CANON POINT: Post-Season 1
AGE: Early 30s?
APPEARANCE: Pic!
PREVIOUS GAME HISTORY: N/A
PERSONALITY:
Hawkeye is mainly known for his sense of humor and, by sense of humor, I mean his extreme sarcasm. He has a bit of a mouth on him at times, enough to get him into fights or trouble if he's not careful. And it HAS gotten him into fights, especially with his teammates. He's pretty bad about treating some situations like a game or a joke as well, mostly because he's confident of his skills and has faith in his teammates. The point is, however, he likes to find humor in even the most dire of situations and deals with trouble by talking about it sarcastically. Hulk seems to like him for that trait though, but some of the others find it a bit trying at best (though also happy to return his sarcasm).
Humor aside, Hawkeye DOES know when to be serious and has a strong sense of justice that motivates him to be the hero that he is. He is a trained SHIELD agent of course and it can only be assumed that he chose that profession so that he could help others and fulfill that sense of justice. Ultimately, he likes saving the world and helps others even when the whole world (read: SHIELD) is against him. And in fact he HAS saved the world multiple times. Even though he complains about it or jokes about how often he has to rescue the other Avengers he does it again and again out of a sense of what is right. He could never just let someone suffer, at least, not the entire world. I say that because he DID leave Black Widow behind once to get taken by the Gamma Dome, but that was when he was still holding a grudge against her and, to be fair, he WAS going off to save the REST of the world.
Overall, he's a fairly laid back and good natured guy. Able to chill pool side with Janet and take life as it comes, which usually means having to LEAVE pool side and save someone's butt. However, he has a stubborn streak a mile wide, persistently chasing Black Widow after her deception even when told multiple times to drop it (by both Tony Stark AND Nick Fury). Although he tends to be more critical of others than himself, going so far as to list the many reasons why the Avengers will fail because of their short comings, he does accept that he's not the most perfect of human beings and he has his flaws. His main flaw seems to be that of his over confidence in himself and his sheer stubbornness/one track mind. The majority of his time in the first season is spent seeking out Black Window and getting revenge for her trickery against him. He was even called out on this by his former coworker, Mockingbird, but doesn't really acknowledge he was being stupidly persistent until much later. Another flaw might be his trust issues that develop after Black Widow's betrayal, but that is understandable. Eventually he does start to trust people again, although this is mostly limited to the Avengers.
He trusts his friends with his life, but if you ever betray that trust then he will hold a grudge against you for a LONG time. Past experiences have led him to disliking the idea of being deceived. This has also led him to having a few authority issues, since he feels betrayed by SHIELD, but he can play with a team if it suits his interest. Sadly, his impatience at times can lead to him being a bit difficult to work with. However, the other Avengers tolerate and even trust him because he has proven himself time and time again.
ABILITIES: No super-human abilities to speak of, Clint does possess the ability to hit just about any target or multiple targets with his arrows. He is skilled in hand-to-hand combat, though goes more for power than speed. He has also been shown to be quite acrobatic, which probably comes from his time in the circus. Basically he is at the peak of human condition for a male of his age and has had enough training to back it up and make him quite a formidable opponent. While it remains unseen, Hawkeye probably has experience with other weapons as well, both melee and ranged as part of his S.H.I.E.L.D training. He is a very observant man as well, whether this is due to his keen eyesight or skill is yet to be determined. Also Hawkeye has a decent amount of understanding of technology, but it's a basic user level at best (he's not a hacker or a scientist by any means).
POSSESSIONS:
- Clothes
- (1) satchel full of trick arrows
- (1) bow (folds up)
- (1) ID/Comm card
samples.
JOURNAL ENTRY SAMPLE:
[Someone is super irritated at this. Even though he has his mask on you can tell pretty clearly by his expression that he is unhappy, pissed might be a good word to use]
Oh come ON. I just finished saving the world, [He pauses and points at the screen]again mind you, and now THIS? What even IS this? A game? Really? [Groans] I don't have time for games and I really don't feel like playing. [Frowning he mutters under his breath]I was having such a good nap too.
[Sigh, well, enough complaining, down to business] Anyway, I already figured out my normal comm device doesn't work [He flicks a card between his fingers, tucking it back into a pocket] so I guess I'm stuck with this thing. So who wants to be the first lucky soul to fill me in on what's REALLY going on here? What's the purpose behind this "game" and have any of the other Avengers shown up for it? Because you know, I'm pretty sure a virtual game is more Iron Man's thing than mine.
THIRD-PERSON SAMPLE:
Kaldur's in the game so no sample required.
